Minister Hosono corrects campaign finance report, citing "clerical error" and denying "unofficial campaign office" allegations

Reconstruction Minister Hosono has corrected campaign finance reports for the two most recent House of Representatives elections after reports that he set up more campaign offices than permitted. He said the costs of a liaison office were recorded in the election accounts through a clerical error. Weekly Bunshun reported an alleged unofficial campaign office beyond the two permitted by law, where associates made phone calls. Hosono denied the report, saying the liaison office was permanent with no staff present and no phone installed.
