New rest area opens near Imperial Palace: Ōtemon Rest House

A new rest area called the Ōtemon Rest House is set to open next week just past the Ōtemon gate of the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. The building makes use of warm wood, with wooden tables and stairs. Located about 650 meters from the palace where New Year greetings are held, it can accommodate up to 500 people. It is expected to become a new sightseeing spot for visitors strolling the grounds.

皇居に“新たな休憩所”がオープンするということです。ただ、休憩所といっても、ただ単に“休むためだけの場所”ではなく、新たな“観光名所”になりそうだということです。 　大手門を抜けてすぐ、皇居に新たな名所が誕生します。 　その名も「大手休憩所」。木のぬくもりを生かした建物でテーブルや階段にも木が使われています。 　一般参賀が行われる宮殿からもおよそ650メートル。最大で500人が利用可能。皇居散策の合間に一息つける新たな憩いの場になりそうです。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
