Israel election: ruling and opposition blocs both seen short of majority

Voting has closed in Israel's general election, and exit polls suggest that the Likud-led ruling bloc and the opposition are both short of a majority. Turnout reportedly reached its highest level in more than 20 years. Arab parties are projected to win a record 18 seats, and coalition negotiations are expected to decide what comes next.

イスラエルの総選挙は投票が締め切られ、出口調査ではネタニヤフ首相率いる与党と野党がともに過半数割れの公算です。エルサレムから報告です。 　投票率は過去20年余りで最高となり、今回の選挙への国民の関心の高さも伺えました。 　当初、苦戦が伝えられていたネタニヤフ首相率いる与党リクードですが、出口調査では第1党を維持する見通しです。 　ネタニヤフ首相は支援者を前に演説をし、「右派与党で過半数を占めている」と主張しています。 　ただ、イスラエルの公共放送による出口調査では、獲得できるのは野党と同じ51議席にとどまると予測とされています。 　このまま行けば全体の120議席に対し、与野党ともに過半数には達しないことになります。 　こうしたなか、ネタニヤフ政権への不満が票に結び付いたのが、大躍進したアラブ系政党です。 　過去最多となる18議席を獲得すると予測されています。 　野党側としては反ネタニヤフでまとまり、協力に漕ぎつけたいところです。 　交渉が不調に終われば、ネタニヤフ首相が暫定首相として政権を維持する可能性もあり、連立交渉が今後のかぎを握ることになります。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
