Will Italy hold Israel accountable for the alleged torture of Sumud Flotilla activists?

Maria Elena Delia, spokesperson for the Global Sumud Flotilla in Italy, told Al Jazeera that the Italian investigation extends beyond those who carried out the attacks to Israeli political and military leaders. She said it represents a step toward holding officials accountable and challenging impunity. Delia also stressed that flotilla activists faced sexual assault, threats, and deprivation of sleep, food, water and medical care.
