Two killed in separate crashes in Iwate and Miyagi; six vehicles involved near Morioka

Two people died in a series of traffic accidents in Iwate and Miyagi prefectures. Early on October 20, a crash involving two trucks, a passenger car and two other vehicles, six in total, occurred on the Tohoku Expressway near Morioka Minami Interchange in Iwate, killing one person. Later that morning, a Japan Ground Self-Defense Force vehicle and a light passenger car collided head-on on the Sendai Northern Road in Rifu, Miyagi, killing the light car's driver and injuring two SDF members. Police believe one of the vehicles crossed into the opposite lane.

岩手県と宮城県で事故が相次ぎ2人が死亡しました。 　20日午前0時半ごろ、岩手県の東北自動車道上り線の盛岡南インターチェンジ近くで、トラック2台と乗用車など4台の合わせて6台が絡む事故がありました。 　警察によりますと、この事故でいずれかの車に乗っていたとみられる1人が死亡したほか、トラックの運転手が軽いけがをしているということです。 　また、午前7時ごろ、宮城県利府町の仙台北部道路下り線で、陸上自衛隊の車両と軽乗用車が正面衝突しました。 　この事故で軽乗用車を運転していた男性が死亡し、自衛隊の車両に乗っていた20代の男性隊員2人が軽いけがをしました。 　警察は、どちらかの車両が対向車線にはみ出したとみています。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
