Additional Russian decree on JT business extends to management and sales control

Putin has issued a new supplementary decree bringing Russian sales companies into the scope of the process that placed Japan Tobacco (JT) assets under the control of Russian firms. The decree, published on the 6th, places three companies, including JTI Russia, which oversees JT's Russian operations and product sales, under Russian control. The earlier decree on the 5th covered four tobacco factory companies. Japan protested directly through a senior official visiting Russia, but no resolution has been reached.

ロシアにあるJT＝日本たばこ産業の資産がロシア企業の管理下に移された問題で、プーチン大統領は新たに、現地の販売会社なども対象に加える追加の大統領令を出しました。 　6日付で公表された新たな大統領令では、JTのロシア事業の統括や製品販売を担う「JTIロシア」など3社をロシア企業の管理下に置くとしています。 　5日の大統領令ではたばこ工場の4社が対象でしたが、今回の追加により、製造から販売に至る経営権が事実上、ロシア側に移された形です。 　日本側はロシア訪問中の政府高官を通じ直接抗議を行いましたが、ロシア外務省の高官はロシアメディアに対し「露骨な敵対行為への対抗措置」と話すなど、事態収拾のめどは立っていません。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
