Kyushu Shinkansen services suspended, full reopening expected around 6 p.m. (October 13, 2026)

Kyushu Shinkansen services have been suspended on all sections since the night of October 12 and remain halted from the first train on October 13. According to JR Kyushu, a train at a depot in Kumamoto was found with part of its pantograph missing, which led to the suspension. A further fault, with a overhead line component detached between Kumamoto and Shin-Yatsushiro, delayed the expected restart by about four hours. Service between Hakata and Kumamoto is expected to resume around 4 p.m., and between Kumamoto and Kagoshima-Chuo around 6 p.m.

12日夜から全線で運転を見合わせている九州新幹線は13日も始発から運転を見合わせています。JR博多駅から報告です。 　JR博多駅の新幹線口です。朝から新幹線の運行状況を確認に来る人で駅は混雑しています。 　JR九州によりますと、熊本市にある新幹線の車両基地でパンタグラフの一部がなくなっている車両が見つかったため、12日午後10時ごろから全区間で運転を見合わせ、博多－鹿児島中央間の全線で始発から運転を見合わせています。 鹿児島へ 「どうしようかなと思っている。様子見て行かないといけないので、きょう中に」 「在来線か高速バスが早いと聞いて、会社の指示を待っている」 　また、熊本－新八代の間で架線の部品が外れるなどの不具合が見つかり、運転再開見込みが当初の予定よりさらにおよそ4時間ほど遅れました。 　博多－熊本間は13日午後4時ごろ、熊本－鹿児島中央間は13日午後6時ごろになると見込まれています。 　混乱はきょう一日中続きそうです。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
