Hospital apologizes after loss of medical narcotics
Mito Saiseikai General Hospital announced that five types of medical narcotics used in emergency surgery have gone missing, and its director apologized. The missing drugs include morphine hydrochloride and fentanyl. The loss was discovered when staff restocked the drugs the day after a surgery on the 18th, and a search of the hospital has not located them. The hospital said it will install security cameras in the storage room and tighten rules on safe key management to prevent a recurrence.
