Protests spread to Italy: 200 detained, about 80% of them minors
As large-scale protests continue in France, demonstrations against rising living costs also took place in neighbouring Italy, where some young people turned violent and clashed with police. According to local media, around 2,000 people gathered near Milan's Duomo Square on the 18th, and some broke into shops during looting and vandalism. Several people, including police officers, were reported injured, more than 200 were detained, and about 80% of those detained are said to be minors.
