Car crashes into shop after intersection collision in Mito, Ibaraki (27 Oct 2026)

At an intersection in central Mito, Ibaraki Prefecture, two kei cars collided. One of them then mounted the sidewalk and crashed into the glass front of a shop selling Kasama ware. The accident happened around 10:20 a.m. on October 27, 2026. The driver, a man, suffered minor injuries, and no pedestrians were caught up in the incident.

水戸市中心部にある交差点で軽自動車が別の車と衝突した後に歩道に乗り上げ、店のガラスに突っ込む事故がありました。 店の人 「いきなりドーンという音と振動で、慌てて（外に）出ようとしたらガラス片がボーンと飛び出してきて、えらいこっちゃと」 　警察などによりますと、27日午前10時20分ごろ、水戸市泉町の交差点で軽自動車同士が衝突する事故がありました。 　このうち1台の軽自動車が歩道に乗り上げ、笠間焼を販売する店のガラスに突っ込んだということです。 　この車を運転していた男性が軽いけがをしましたが、巻き込まれた歩行者はいませんでした。 　現場はJR水戸駅から北西に1.6キロほどで、ビルや店舗が並ぶ地域です。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
