Drill Simulating a Mount Fuji Eruption: Measures and Public Warnings Reviewed (October 21, 2026)

Yamanashi Prefecture held a drill to prepare for a possible eruption of Mount Fuji, practicing how to quickly call on residents to evacuate as volcanic activity changes. The exercise was carried out jointly with police and the Self-Defense Forces. It reviewed the prefecture's response as the threat of eruption grows, including the issuance of Alert Level 3 and restrictions on climbing. Participants also discussed measures for areas that lava flows could reach.

富士山の噴火に備え、山梨県は火山活動の状況に応じて住民へ避難を速やかに呼び掛けるための訓練を行いました。 気象台職員 「16時00分、噴火が発生しました」 　訓練は警察や自衛隊と合同で行われ、富士山の噴火の恐れが高まる状況で県の取るべき対策を確認しました。 　最初に噴火警戒レベル3が発表され、富士山への入山規制が始まるなか、付近の学校を休校にしたり、観光客に避難を呼び掛ける流れを再現しました。 　その後、噴火が発生したとして、溶岩流が到達する場所での対策などを検討しました。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
