Museum admission fees rise: Kyoto National Museum of Modern Art goes from 430 to 1,000 yen

Six facilities run by the National Museum of Art, an independent administrative institution, are gradually revising their admission fees. At the Kyoto National Museum of Modern Art, the general admission fee for the permanent collection and other exhibitions rose from 430 yen to 1,000 yen starting on the 24th. Some other facilities will also raise their fees to 1,000 yen next year. In February, the government set numerical targets for self-generated income such as admission fees, and museums that fail to meet them may be subject to restructuring.

独立行政法人国立美術館が運営する6つの施設で、観覧料の改定が順次行われます。 京都国立近代美術館では24日から、常設展などの一般観覧料が430円から1000円に値上げされました。 来年、1000円に値上げされる施設もあります。 国は今年2月、国立の博物館・美術館の経営基盤強化に向け入館料などの自己収入に数値目標を設定し、未達成などの場合は館を「再編」の対象としています。
