Narita Airport holds resident briefing on new runway; compulsory land acquisition under consideration

Narita Airport held a briefing for residents of Narita City, Chiba Prefecture, about its planned C runway. The airport said the session aimed to deepen local understanding of construction progress. About 10 percent of the required land has not yet been acquired, so the planned start of operations from the end of March 2029 has been postponed. Officials said they will make every effort to acquire the remaining land voluntarily, while also aiming to open the runway in the early 2030s using the land expropriation system.

成田空港で新たに建設を予定しているC滑走路を巡り、地元の千葉県成田市で住民を対象とした説明会が開かれました。 　成田空港のC滑走路は、建設予定のうちの残り1割ほどの土地を取得できておらず、当初計画されていた2029年3月末からの運用開始は延期になっています。 　28日、成田空港は、工事の進捗状況などについて周辺の住民に理解を深めてもらう目的で成田市で住民説明会を開催しました。 　説明会で住民から拡張工事による地球環境への影響について聞かれると、二酸化炭素の排出削減に努めていると回答し、騒音問題について問われると、航空機の発着回数50万回を想定した防音対策をしていると述べました。 　また、残りの土地を任意で取得する最大限の努力をするとしつつも、強制的に土地の取得を可能にする「土地収用制度」を活用して2030年代前半の供用開始を目指すとも説明しました。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
