Former Sumo Wrestler Kigenji Arrested on Suspicion of Assault in Fukui

Former sumo wrestler Kigenji and another man have been arrested on suspicion of injuring a man in his 40s. The incident took place on a street in Fukui city in late July of this year, after an argument, when the man was struck in the face and suffered injuries expected to take three months to heal. He briefly lost consciousness. A leader of a Yamaguchi-gumi affiliated gang was also arrested on suspicion of harboring one of the suspects, and police have not disclosed how the three men responded to the charges.

元大相撲幕内力士の貴源治ら2人が、40代の男性を殴ってけがをさせた疑いで逮捕されました。男性は一時意識不明となりました。 ■2021年に大麻使用で解雇処分 　28日、傷害の疑いで逮捕されたのは、元幕内力士の貴源治こと上山賢容疑者（29）と、自称コンサルティング業の加川力弥容疑者（45）です。 　貴源治は、突き・押しが得意技で、最高位は前頭十枚目でした。2021年、十両だった時に大麻を使用したとして、日本相撲協会から解雇処分を受けています。 　2人は今年7月下旬の午後10時半ごろ、福井市の路上で40代男性と口論になった後、顔面を殴り、頭の骨を折るなど全治3カ月のけがをさせた疑いが持たれています。暴行を受けた男性は、一時意識不明となりました。 　また、六代目山口組系の暴力団「宮原組」の組長（60）は、加川容疑者をかくまうために飲食店に連れていったとして、犯人隠避の疑いで逮捕されました。 　警察は3人の認否を明らかにしていません。 （「グッド！モーニング」2026年10月29日放送分より） [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
