Former representative director (63) arrested over ¥170 million fraud in pachinko device development

Tomoharu Koshino, 63, former representative director of the Electronic Authentication System Council, has been arrested. According to the Metropolitan Police Department, he obtained about 175 million yen through a scheme linked to the development of a device that manages pachinko balls. He allegedly had an outside contractor inflate fictitious consulting fees and return the excess to him. Police are also investigating whether he obtained several hundred million yen more through similar methods.
