Trailer crashes into trucks on Shin-Tomei shoulder, one dead and one injured; driver arrested

A collision occurred on the upbound lanes of the Shin-Tomei Expressway in Numazu, Shizuoka Prefecture, at about 8 a.m. on the 7th. A trailer struck two trucks that were stopped on the shoulder. One truck driver died and a man in his 40s driving a large truck was seriously injured. Police arrested the trailer driver, 55-year-old Masao Yamamoto, on suspicion of negligent driving causing death and injury, and are investigating the circumstances.

静岡県沼津市で7日、新東名高速でトラックなど3台が絡む事故があり、1人が重傷、1人が死亡しました。警察は追突したトレーラーを運転していた男を逮捕しました。 　7日午前8時ごろ、沼津市井出の新東名高速道路上りでトレーラーが路肩に止まっていたトラック2台に追突しました。 　この事故でトラックを運転していた佐野大樹さん（30）が死亡し、大型トラックを運転していた40代男性が重傷を負いました。 　警察は追突したトレーラーを運転していた山本政夫容疑者（55）を過失運転致死傷の疑いで逮捕し、詳しい事故の状況を調べています。 　警察によりますと、死傷した2人は修理作業で路上にいたとみられるということです。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
