Data leak of up to 320,000 records at SMBC Consumer Finance (November 5, 2026)

SMBC Consumer Finance, which guarantees loans such as card loans, announced that its guarantee system was accessed without authorization, exposing personal data of up to about 320,000 people. The company detected the unauthorized access on November 2. During its investigation it confirmed that names, dates of birth, addresses, driver's license numbers, annual incomes and guarantee amounts had been leaked. Affected customers are being contacted individually, and no secondary damage has been confirmed so far.

カードローンなどの保証業務を行っている「SMBCコンシューマーファイナンス」はシステムが不正アクセスを受け、最大約32万人の勤務先や年収、保証額などが漏洩（ろうえい）したと発表しました。 　SMBCコンシューマーファイナンスは地方銀行や信用金庫、インターネット銀行などと提携し、カードローンなどを申し込んだ人への保証業務を行っています。 　会社によりますと、11月2日に保証業務に使うシステムへの不正アクセスを検知し、調査の過程で最大32万人分の氏名や生年月日、住所のほか、運転免許証の番号や年収、保証額などの漏洩を確認したということです。 　対象となる顧客には個別に連絡をしていて、現段階で二次被害は確認されていないとしています。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
