Japanese woman killed in South Korea: Arrested man's loss about 600,000 yen

A man in his thirties from South Korea has been arrested over the killing of a Japanese woman in her twenties at an apartment complex in Cheonan. Police say the suspect is believed to have acted over an investment loss and told investigators he had decided to end his life but was afraid to die alone. Further investigation found his loss amounted to about 600,000 yen. The woman had recently entered South Korea and is not believed to have been in a relationship with the man.

韓国の集合住宅で20代の日本人女性が殺害された事件で、逮捕された韓国人の男が「60万円の投資損失」を理由に犯行に及んだとみられることが分かりました。 　警察によりますと、韓国人の30代の男は28日夕方、天安（チョナン）市にある集合住宅で、20代の日本人女性を刺して殺害した疑いが持たれています。 　男はこれまでの調べで「投資の損失で自殺を決意したが、1人で死ぬのが怖かった」などと供述していました。 　その後の警察の捜査で、男の損失額が日本円でおよそ60万円だったことが分かりました。 　女性は今月、韓国に入国したばかりで、男とは交際関係にはなかったとみられています。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
