Spanish transport minister says signal for rear-ending train was green; 69 dead, 36 identified

A train collision in central Spain has killed 69 people, and Transport Minister Puente said the trackside signal for the train that rear-ended the other was green. According to Spanish media, the minister said this even though another train had been stopped ahead. The rear-ending train had also been allowed to run without a speed limit. Autopsies have been completed for all 69 dead, but only 36 have been identified so far, and authorities are using DNA analysis to speed up identification.
