Train collision in Spain leaves at least 50 dead and over 179 injured

Two trains collided in Ulda, in the Castilla-La Mancha region of central Spain, on the morning of the 28th, according to local media. At least 50 people died and more than 179 were injured, the reports say. The trains belonged to the state rail operator Renfe and the private high-speed operator Iryo, and more than 500 people were reportedly aboard the two trains combined. Service on the line linking Madrid and southern Andalusia has been suspended.
