IRGC says US cannot reopen Strait of Hormuz, insists Iran's demands must be accepted

Pakistani Army chief Asim Munir has arrived in Tehran to support mediation with Washington, while messages are being exchanged through the Qatari mediator. The development follows talks between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and President Masoud Pezeshkian and Abbas Araghchi, in which Tehran said US bases in the region are the main cause of the instability. An IRGC spokesperson said Washington cannot reopen the strait by force or secure oil shipments, and that accepting Iran's conditions is the only path to reopening the waterway.
