Iran and Qatar agree to reopen Strait of Hormuz within 2 days; Araghchi says negotiation path remains open with US

Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi said Iran and mediator Qatar agreed that the Strait of Hormuz would reopen within two days if conditions allow. In an interview with Al Jazeera, he confirmed receiving a letter from US Vice President JD Vance about resuming talks. He said no meeting with US officials is currently scheduled and that discussions with mediators on conditions are continuing. He added that reopening the strait would open a path to negotiating unresolved issues with the United States.

アメリカが再攻撃を検討しているとされるなか、イランのアラグチ外相は条件が整えばホルムズ海峡を2日以内に再開することで仲介国と合意したと明らかにしました。 　アラグチ外相は31日、中東の衛星テレビ局アルジャジーラの取材に応じ、アメリカのバンス副大統領から交渉再開に向けた書簡を受け取ったことを認め、国内の高官レベルで協議をしたと明かしました。 　そのうえで、「アメリカ側の幅広い対話と相互理解への道を開こうとする試みは、前向きな一歩だ」と語りました。 　ただ、現時点ではアメリカ側と会談の予定はないとし、仲介国と条件を巡って協議を続けているとしました。 　また、仲介するカタールからホルムズ海峡の再開に関して、条件が整えば5日以内に実施する案が提示され、協議の結果、2日以内に再開することで合意したことも明らかにしました。 　イラン側は9月に海峡を1週間以内に再開する案を示し、制裁の解除や周辺地域からのアメリカ軍の撤退、凍結資産の開放などを要求していました。 　アラグチ外相は、ホルムズ海峡が再開されれば「アメリカとの未解決の問題についても交渉の道が開かれる」と訴えました。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
