PM Takaichi says she wants to keep working with Trump after US midterm results

Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi said she wants to keep cooperating with President Trump to strengthen Japan-US relations following the US midterm election results. She described the Japan-US alliance as a core pillar of diplomacy and security. Takaichi also declined to comment directly on the outcome, saying it concerns another country's domestic politics. She is reportedly seeking a Japan-US leaders' meeting on the sidelines of an ASEAN summit in two weeks.
