Tokyo Bay Grand Fireworks Festival returns after 11 years

The Tokyo Bay Grand Fireworks Festival has returned after 11 years, lighting the night sky over the bay area near Odaiba. Fireworks were launched one after another against the Tokyo Bay waterfront. The festival began in 1988 and was suspended after 2015 due to the construction of the Olympic and Paralympic athletes' village. This year it was held in autumn as part of commemorative events in Chuo and Minato wards.

東京湾の夜空を彩る「東京湾大華火祭」が11年ぶりに復活しました。 　東京のベイエリアを背景に、幻想的な花火が次々と打ち上げられていきます。 　1988年に始まった「東京湾大華火祭」は、東京の夏の風物詩として親しまれてきましたが、東京オリンピック・パラリンピックの選手村の建設に伴い、2015年を最後に休止していました。 　今回、中央区と港区の記念事業の一環として、開催時期を秋に変え11年ぶりに復活しました。 訪れた人 「オリンピック始まる前ずっとこれやってたんですけど、結婚する前だったんで、それで来ていて、ほんと久しぶりだったんでよかったです」 「めっちゃきれいですし、こんな間近に見たのが初めてだったので、ほんと感動しました、心臓に響いて」 「11年ぶりというので初めてだったんですけど、隅田川とかと同じ感じかと思ったんですけど、それよりももっと近くで見られて、迫力も感じられてまた来年あったら来たいなと思いました」 　24日はあいにくの空模様となりましたが、会場には大勢の人が訪れ、東京湾の夜空に広がる大輪の花に見入っていました。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
