Tomari Nuclear Plant Severe Accident Scenario: National and Local Disaster Drill with Prime Minister Takaichi and Ministers

A national nuclear disaster preparedness drill was held based on a scenario of a severe accident at Hokkaido Electric Power's Tomari Nuclear Power Plant. The scenario assumed a magnitude 7 earthquake off western Hokkaido had disabled the cooling function of reactor unit 3. Prime Minister Takaichi and cabinet ministers attended a response headquarters meeting at the Prime Minister's Office and received reports from local governors and mayors online. The government also announced a nuclear emergency declaration and called on residents to evacuate.

北海道電力の泊原発で、重大事故が起きたと想定した国の原子力総合防災訓練が行われました。 　訓練は北海道西方沖を震源とする震度7の地震によって、泊原発3号機の原子炉を冷却する機能が失われ重大事故が発生したという想定で行われました。 高市総理大臣 「この重大な局面に当たって事故の拡大防止が、そして早急な事態の収束、また、国民の皆様の安全確保が何よりも重要です」 　総理官邸では、高市総理や関係閣僚らが対策本部会議に出席し、オンライン会議で地元の知事や町長らから報告を受けたほか、「原子力緊急事態宣言」を発表して住民に避難などを呼び掛けました。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
