UNRWA: Extensive destruction in Gaza makes rain preparations insufficient

UNRWA media adviser Adnan Abu Hasna said the agency continues to operate in the Gaza Strip with about 10,500 staff providing education, health, psychosocial support, water distribution and solid waste collection. He said the agency made advance preparations for the rains, including improvements to its sanitation systems. However, he stated that the extensive damage to sewage, stormwater drainage, water, electricity and telecommunications infrastructure has made these measures insufficient.
