Newborn's body found in sea in Hofu, Yamaguchi; internal bleeding to head and abdomen

The body of a baby boy who was only a few days old was found floating in the sea near a fishing port in Hofu, Yamaguchi Prefecture. An autopsy found internal bleeding caused by an external impact to the head and abdomen, and reduced blood circulation was identified as the cause of death. The death is estimated to have occurred in late October. Police suspect the boy may have been killed and his body dumped at sea, and are investigating murder and body abandonment.

山口県防府市の海で生後間もない男児の遺体が浮かんでいるのが見つかった事件で、男児の頭部や腹部に内出血があったことが分かりました。 　警察によりますと、3日午後3時半すぎ、防府市西浦の漁港で生後まもない男児の遺体が浮いているのが見つかりました。 　司法解剖の結果、男児は身長52センチ、体重2.9キロで黒髪だということで、10月下旬に死亡したと推定されています。 　外部からの衝撃による内出血が頭部や腹部に見られ、体内を流れる血液が減ったことが死因だと判明しました。 　警察は何者かが男児を殺害し海に遺棄した可能性があるとして、殺人や死体遺棄事件を視野に捜査しています。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
