From combating deforestation as a child to pioneering sustainable rural enterprises, environmental activist Shashi Bahuguna Raturi has dedicated over three decades to transforming remote Himalayan communities. In this inspiring talk, she shares her grassroots journey—starting with women-led initiatives for smokeless clay stoves, establishing kindergarten schools, and reviving traditional culture through eco-friendly Vedic weddings at Triyuginarayan. She also highlights how a simple traditional food blend, "Pishu Load," evolved into a thriving venture supporting over 10,000 farmers across high-altitude villages. Grounded in patience, personal sacrifice, and a deep-seated service mindset, Raturi demonstrates how an unwavering inner voice and relentless perseverance can create multi-generational change. Shashi Bahuguna Raturi, the founder of Namakwali, a homegrown brand from Uttarakhand, aimed to bring the rich traditions of her mountainous homeland to the global market.
