Parts of England are in severe drought, with some reservoirs falling to record lows after the hottest summer on record. Water restrictions like hosepipe bans have been widely introduced in parts of the country. The UK government said more than £100bn is being invested in water infrastructure, with nine new reservoirs in the pipeline.
