During the pursuit, Pierce drove at speeds exceeding 110 mph, endangered other motorists, and repeatedly refused to stop. Officers successfully performed multiple (PIT) maneuvers in an effort to safely end the pursuit, but Pierce continued to flee before ultimately abandoning the vehicle and attempting to escape on foot. He was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. No members of the public were injured.
