Delhi is on high alert ahead of the proposed CJP protest at Jantar Mantar on Saturday, October 10, with major transport restrictions and heightened security preparations expected across the national capital. Delhi Police has asked the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to consider closing entry and exit gates at 57 metro stations from 9 PM on Friday until the situation normalises on Saturday. The proposal also includes reducing train frequency at affected stations. Commuters should check official DMRC updates before travelling, as the final implementation of the proposed metro restrictions is subject to confirmation. Indian Railways has also ordered the cancellation of Mail and Express trains scheduled to arrive at New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations between 4 AM and 2 PM on Saturday. The cancellations apply to qualifying trains departing their originating stations after 2 PM on Friday. Railway authorities have cited anticipated severe road traffic congestion around the stations. Security has been tightened ahead of the planned demonstration, with a large police and paramilitary deployment reported. Authorities have cited public safety, law-and-order concerns and the possibility of traffic disruption.
