Officers were seeking a vehicle tied to that homicide. Later on that afternoon, this same vehicle was involved in a shots fired incident that occurred near the 1700 Block of North 35th. Shortly thereafter, at approximately 4:47 p.m., officers observed this vehicle and attempted to make a stop. The suspect, later identified as 31-year-old Nicholas Maslowski, fled and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The vehicle pursuit ended when the vehicle crashed on S. 35th Street near West National Avenue. No one else was struck by the gunfire. Maslowski and sole occupant of the suspect vehicle was transported to a hospital and ultimately succumbed to his injuries. A 34-year-old that was in the crash was transported to a hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries.
