Japanese woman reportedly killed, Korean man detained

A man in his 30s has been detained in South Korea after a woman in her 20s from Japan was killed in an apartment complex. According to Korean police, the suspect told investigators he tried to die together with her but killed her after she resisted. Police say the attack took place in the evening of October 28 in Cheonan, and the suspect was arrested in the early hours of October 29 about 120 kilometers away. The woman had recently entered Korea, and the two had met a few times without being in a relationship.

韓国の集合住宅で20代の日本人女性が殺害された事件で、拘束された韓国人の男が「一緒に死のうとしたが抵抗され殺害した」と供述していることが分かりました。 　韓国警察によりますと、韓国人の30代の男は28日夕方、天安（チョナン）市にある集合住宅で日本人女性（20代）を凶器で刺して殺害した疑いが持たれています。 　29日未明、約120キロ離れた逃走先で身柄を拘束されました。 　警察の調べに対し、男は「投資による損失で将来が見通せず自殺を決意したが、1人で死ぬのが怖かった。一緒に死のうとしたが抵抗されたため殺害した」と供述しています。 　女性は今月、韓国に入国したばかりで、2人は数回会ったことがある程度で交際関係にはなかったとみられています。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
