Sunday Mainichi to Cease Print Publication in April Next Year, Former PM Uno Scandal Coverage Recalled
Sunday Mainichi, a weekly general-interest magazine with more than a century of history, will stop publication with its issue on April 27 next year. According to Mainichi Shimbun Publications, the decision was made as the magazine market shrinks and raw material costs continue to rise. The magazine plans to continue its content through web-based distribution. It is also known for publishing a 1989 report on a women-related scandal that led to the resignation of then-Prime Minister Sosuke Uno.
