TEDx Talks による説明

The pandemic ended, but teacher exhaustion didn’t. Drawing on research on burnout and emotional intelligence, In this talk, Patrick asks a question we rarely put to educators: when did you last ask a teacher how they are really doing? He shows why emotional intelligence is a practical professional resource rather than a soft skill. It can help teachers avoid passing their stress on to students, look beneath silence, lateness and disengagement, build psychologically safe classrooms, and sustain strong working relationships. He also makes clear that emotional intelligence is not a cure-all and never a substitute for fair workloads, adequate staffing and supportive leadership. Patrick explores why emotional skills matter more than ever in schools. They are a resource for teachers, not a replacement for fair workloads and supportive leadership. They also help teachers and students thrive. Patrick O. Rakiro is an international educator, school leader and entrepreneur with many years of experience in education across diverse cultural and educational settings. He currently serves as Principal of the GUIS–ULC Division in Guangzhou, China. He is also the Founder of Falcon Global Education Forum which educators can join through this link. https://falconglobal.co.ke/ Patrick is passionate about the human side of education, Patrick believes that while teaching is often measured through student achievement and academic outcomes, the emotional experiences of teachers are equally important. In his TEDx talk, The Emotional Reality of Teaching, he invites us to look beyond the classroom outcomes and recognise the human beings behind the profession. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
