Hopkinton High School の高校3年生で、非営利団体 She Builds The Future の創設者である Yixuan Li が、介護への期待が世代を超えて女性の人生をどう形作るかについてTEDxで語ります。家族の中で一番上の姉としての経験をもとに、介護とアイデンティティ、自己肯定感、自分を選ぶ力との関係を考察しています。講演は地域で独立して運営されたTEDxイベントで行われました。少女たちに、助け手としてだけでなく、空間、野心、自己肯定感に値する一人の人間として自分を見てほしいと呼びかけています。

“The Girl in the Mirror,” by Yixuan Li, is a powerful reflection on how caregiving expectations shape women’s lives across generations. Through personal stories, research, and her nonprofit work, the talk encourages girls to see themselves not only as helpers, but as individuals who deserve space, ambition, and self-worth.” Yixuan is a junior from Hopkinton high school and the founder of She Builds The Future, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering girls through education, health, and leadership. Growing up as the oldest sister in her family, she learned early what it meant to be responsible for others. Over time, that experience led her to reflect on how caregiving shapes identity, self-worth, and the ability to choose yourself.
