Gasoline base price set at about 172 yen from December 3, rising weekly
The Japanese government uses subsidies to keep the gasoline base price at about 170 yen per liter. The base price is set to rise to about 172 yen from December 3, with further increases to about 174 yen and then 175 yen in the following weeks. The government plans to raise the price by about 5 yen per month from December, as high crude oil prices keep costs elevated. Details after January have not been disclosed.
