Nikkei 225 Plunges; PM Takaichi Says It Is Unclear Whether the Drop Is Temporary

The Nikkei 225 stock average fell sharply, prompting Prime Minister Takaichi to comment on the market movement. Responding to a question from Kokumin Minshuto lawmaker Tanaka, she said it was impossible to predict whether the decline would be temporary or prolonged. She noted that AI-related and semiconductor shares had fallen significantly and said she aims to build an economy that expands Japan's strong sectors.

日経平均株価の急落について、高市総理大臣は「一時的かしばらく続くか予断を許さない」という認識を示しました。 国民民主党　田中衆院議員 「きょう朝からマーケットものすごく動いてまして、先物は5万7000円を割りまして下落率10％です。この状況をぜひ総理に考えていただきたい。お考えをお願いします」 高市総理大臣 「これが一時的なものに終わるのかしばらく続くのか、こういったことも予断はできませんけれども、世界中の国が影響を受けていると思いますが、その状況を注視しながらもこれは市場で決まることですから特にコメントはいたしません」 　高市総理は「確かにAI関連株また半導体などを中心にかなり下落している」という認識を示しました。 　そのうえで日本経済を強くするため「日本の強い分野を伸ばす形を作りたい」と述べました。 [テレ朝NEWS] https://news.tv-asahi.co.jp
