North Safari Sapporo: 220 animals remain as removal deadline approaches

North Safari Sapporo in Minami Ward, Sapporo, closed last September, and footage from October 30 shows a lion inside the grounds. As of the end of last month, 220 animals remained on site. The city has ordered the operating company, Success Kanko, to remove illegal structures, with the deadline set for October 31. A company that took over animal care is planning a new facility to receive the animals, but land negotiations are taking time, and the city will carry out an on-site inspection on the 2nd of next month.

去年9月に閉園した札幌市南区の「ノースサファリサッポロ」。30日の園内をみると、ライオンの姿が確認できます。 　札幌市は、運営会社の「サクセス観光」に対し、違法建築物の撤去を命じる「除却命令」を出していて31日が期限となっています。 　園内には先月末時点で220頭の動物が残っています。 　動物の管理や飼育を引き継いだ会社が、動物の受け入れ先として新たな施設を計画していますが、用地交渉などに時間がかかっているということです。 　市は来月2日に立ち入り検査を実施します。 （「グッド！モーニング」2026年10月31日放送分より）
