Oil Shipping Cost Warning and China's Move to Steer the Yuan

OPEC+ warned of an unprecedented jump in oil shipping and insurance costs, which now account for about 30% of total costs. The warning came as crude prices fell more than 8% after the US Congressional elections. In Asia, the People's Bank of China raised its foreign exchange reserve requirement ratio to 6% to reduce dollar liquidity and curb the sharp rise of the yuan. The report also cited expected record global tourism spending of $7.8 trillion.
